Homemade Laundry Soap...Thanks to Pinterest

My sister and I decided to make homemade laundry soap on Saturday Night (yeah I know we sound like old ladies! haha) So I found a recipe on Pinterest and http://beingcreativetokeepmysanity.blogspot.com/ and then we went to Wal-Mart and got all of our goodies for CHEAP! It really did not look like it was going to make a lot and we almost got stuff to double our "recipe" and decided not to just in case it didn't clean our clothes like we wanted it to. Here is the stuff you need and it can all be found in the laundry detergent aisle at wal-mart :)
Fels-naptha soap: 97 cents each
Sun Oxy: $1.68 each
Storage Jar: $4.97 each
Borax: About $3
Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda: $2.99
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda: about $1
Directions:
First grade the Fels-naptha soap...this is the hardest part so I made my sister do it :) haha
Then I took a new trash bag (I think it was a 15 gallon bag) and I put it into a small trashcan and mixed all of the ingredients together! Lexi helped me with this part :) Be careful though since all of the ingredients are powder it makes a lot of dust. Then put the graded Fels-Naptha into the bag. Take the bag out and roll it around...it is pretty heavy so be gentle with it or your going to have a HUGE mess to clean up! Then poor it into the containers and voila! Homemade Laundry Soap :)
The Final Product! :)

I don't think I have ever been so excited to do laundry! I did a load right away and it works great and smells good too! Heather and I filled up both of those jars and one of the small oxyclean containers so I am glad that we didn't double our recipe!
